Surface finishes
Finish the surface.
- Metallic printingMetallic inks printed in the same pass as the full-colour artwork, so the sheen carries across a whole image rather than a single element.
- Foil stampingHeat-pressed metal leaf. The finish that reads as expensive across a room, before the pack is touched.
- Raised UVThick, dimensional resin you can feel with a fingertip. Used on logos and pattern work that has to be found by hand.
- Spot UVGloss varnish over selected elements only, so a mark lifts off a matte ground as the box turns in the light.
- Drip UVMatte and gloss cured together into water-bead or sand-grain textures. Reads as tactile before it is touched.
- EmbossRaised relief pushed up through the board. Depth without ink, and it survives handling.
- DebossPressed into the fibre instead. The quietest way to signal quality, and it costs no colour.
- Micro embossingMicroscopic textured pattern, for tactile grip and as an anti-counterfeit mark.
- Specialised laminationSoft-touch, velvet and anti-scratch films. Velvet gives a warm suede drag people notice and cannot name.

Before you enquire.
It depends far more on the style than on a house rule. Folding cartons and labels are tooled and printed on large sheets, so they get economical as volume rises. Rigid boxes are largely hand-finished, so they start considerably lower. Two things often bring a minimum within reach: sharing one structural platform across a family of SKUs, and running several variants as one print job. Tell us the volume you actually need and we will say plainly whether we are the right supplier for it.
Yes, and we would rather you did. You get an unprinted white sample first, which settles fit, board weight and how the lid or drawer moves. Once that is right, you get a fully printed and finished golden sample with the real artwork, foil and lamination. You sign that one, and it becomes the reference every production run is measured against at every site. Both are couriered to your address, including the US and UK, and nothing goes into production until the golden sample is signed.
Five things get you a real answer: what the product is, its approximate dimensions and weight, the volume you expect in a year, the markets it sells into, and a reference pack you like. A photograph of something similar is usually enough. Artwork is not needed to quote, and if you do not yet know the structure, describe the product and we will propose two or three routes with an indicative cost band for each.
Production and freight are confirmed against live capacity and actual sailing schedules at the point of quotation, so the dates you receive are real rather than indicative. Samples travel by courier. Production ships by sea as standard, with air freight available when a launch date is at risk. We quote FOB, CIF or DDP so your team can compare us like for like with a domestic supplier, and if a date starts to slip you hear it early, not at the port.
