It depends far more on the style than on a house rule. Folding cartons and labels are tooled and printed on large sheets, so they get economical as volume rises. Rigid boxes are largely hand-finished, so they start considerably lower. What usually brings a minimum within reach is sharing one structural platform across a family of SKUs, and running several variants as one print job. Tell us the volume you actually need and we will say plainly whether we are the right supplier for it.

Yes, and we would rather you did. You get an unprinted white sample first, which settles fit, board weight and how the lid or drawer moves. Once that is right, you get a fully printed and finished golden sample with the real artwork, foil and lamination. You sign that one, and it becomes the reference every production run is measured against at every site. Both are couriered to your address, including the US and UK, and nothing goes into production until the golden sample is signed.

Enough for a real answer: what the product is, its approximate dimensions and weight, the volume you expect in a year, the markets it sells into, and a reference pack you like. A photograph of something similar is usually enough. Artwork is not needed to quote, and if you do not yet know the structure, describe the product and we will propose two or three routes with an indicative cost band for each.

Yes. We sign non-disclosure agreements as a matter of course and prefer to have one in place before samples travel. Artwork, die-lines and tooling made for your programme are used for your programme only, and no client work appears in our portfolio or on this site without written permission.

Print-ready vector artwork, as PDF or AI, built on the die-line we supply. Fonts outlined, images at 300 dpi at final size, 3 mm bleed, and Pantone references stated for any spot colour. If you have brand guidelines with colour targets, send those too. Our prepress team checks trapping, registration, minimum text sizes and barcode contrast before anything goes to plate, and returns a proof for your approval.

Three controls, together. Colour is managed under G7 and Mellow colour management, so presses and substrates are profiled rather than judged by eye. The golden sample you signed is the physical reference, and a copy is held at every site that builds your work. During the run, colour and registration are checked in line against that sample rather than inspected at the end. If a shade drifts, it is caught on our floor and at our cost.

We place the programme where it is made best. Hand-finished luxury, short-to-mid runs and intricate structures generally suit Mumbai. High-volume programmes, automated rigid lines and Pacific destinations generally suit Qingdao. Dubai handles samples, buffer stock and call-off replenishment for Europe, the Gulf and the Americas. You get one quotation covering all three, and we explain the recommendation rather than simply assigning it.

A new structure needs a cutting die, and decorative work needs its own blocks: an embossing die, a foil block, a screen. These are quoted as one-off lines at the start of a programme and kept here for reorders, so the same design does not attract them twice. Where a family of SKUs can share one footprint, they share the tooling too, which is usually the single biggest saving available on a multi-variant launch.

In most cases yes, and it is usually the more interesting engineering problem. Moulded pulp replaces vacuum-formed PET trays, folded paper cradles replace EPE foam, die-cut apertures replace film windows, and gummed paper tape replaces plastic sealing tape. The test we apply is that protection must be unchanged or better. Where a plastic-free route genuinely compromises protection, for a heavy glass item on a long sea route for example, we will say so rather than let you find out through damage claims.

Production and freight are confirmed against live capacity and actual sailing schedules at the point of quotation, so the dates you receive are real rather than indicative. Samples travel by courier. Production ships by sea as standard, with air freight available when a launch date is at risk. We quote FOB, CIF or DDP so your team can compare us like for like with a domestic supplier, and if a date starts to slip you hear it early, not at the port.

Yes, and we prepare it with the quotation rather than after the order. That covers material composition by weight for each component, FSC® chain-of-custody references, an EU PPWR assessment, UK Plastic Packaging Tax declarations, REACH substance screening and EPR data. If your compliance team has its own template, send it and we will complete theirs rather than hand you ours.

Yes. We hold Sedex SMETA 2-Pillar audits covering labour standards, health and safety, and we measure and report facility environmental performance on the Higg Index. Fibre is covered by FSC® Chain of Custody and our inks, coatings and adhesives are screened under REACH. Certificate numbers, scope statements and audit dates are available on request, and unannounced visits are welcome at any of our sites.

Your golden sample, die-lines and approved artwork stay on file, so a reorder is a reference rather than a rebrief. Every pallet carries a batch code that traces back to its run, its materials and its QC records. For programmes with frequent replenishment, Dubai can hold buffer stock and release it against call-off, so a reorder does not have to wait for a new production slot.

Send photographs and the batch code from the pallet label. That code traces to the run, the board, the QC record and the operator, so the conversation starts from facts rather than impressions, usually within a day. We tell you what happened, what we are changing, and agree the remedy on that basis. Nothing about this process depends on you proving anything.
